Sacred Healing of the New Mother – A Holistic Approach to Postpartum Depression, Anxiety, or a Difficult Transition.
We want to take this time to honour you as a new mother. You not only birth a baby, you also birth a new part of yourself, a part that you don’t know yet. It needs just as much love, protection and nurturing as your baby.
The postpartum time can open up past wounds, it can bring forth new fears, and can make us realize that we are holding on to expectations of others. It is not uncommon for our life to feel like it has unraveled, lose our bearings and our feeling of self.
In this time we have an amazing opportunity to look at what appears to be our soul speaking to us and to come face to face with what can be tremendous personal growth.
We need time, connection and other women to explore this new place together. Let us create that space for you.

Your Facilitators
Leah Burns is a mother to 2 young children; a 6 year old daughter and 3 year old son. The birth of her daughter was traumatic and difficult. That experience coupled with breastfeeding difficulties, a high needs baby, and feeling like she wasn’t living up to society’s expectations of the “perfect mother,” led her to develop Postpartum Depression.
Her healing journey began with getting support from the Pacific Postpartum Support Society. There was a finding of self that occurred in her first year of motherhood that she hadn’t taken the time to do prior to becoming a mother, she describes the transition as a dark night of the soul.
She left her corporate career in Human Resources and now works as an Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) Practitioner, Psychic Medium, Aromatherapist, and Intuition Development Coach. She also works part-time for the Pacific Postpartum Support Society as a Group Facilitator and Telephone Support Counsellor.
She has completed training through Postpartum Support International and has a certificate in “Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders: Components of Care Certificate.” She has also completed a course through the Pacific Postpartum Support Society in “Perinatal Support Skills & Group Facilitator Training.”
Shealagh Davis is a mother of 2, who experienced a postpartum adjustment that levelled her to the bone, it cracked her wide open. Through many approaches to her healing and recovery she turned her experience into her passion.
Her educational and work background includes being a Registered Holistic Nutritionist (RHN), being a Postpartum Counsellor and Facilitator through the Pacific Post Partum Support Society, and has trained in Cognitive Behavioural Techniques and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. She has worked with and supported hundreds of women through one of their most profound life experiences, the journey to self through motherhood.

Outline
Every week will include a beautiful meditation to allow yourself to land to the space. There will also be time for sharing and getting the support you need.
Week 1 – What is anxiety and depression – a mind, body, spirit approach. We’ll talk about your thoughts and how they gain momentum. We are not our thoughts! You will learn tools to shift your thoughts.
We will do a ceremony on the 3 sisters and how as women we need each other to lift us up and to lean on for support.
Week 2 – Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) aka Tapping.
- Introduction to EFT and the basic Instructions
- Promotes relaxation on regular basis
- Address specific fears and anxieties in more depth
- Individual attention within the circle as time allows
Week 3 – Listening to your intuition, the importance of self-care, and setting boundaries (including energetic boundaries).
We ask that for this week you bring a pendulum, if you don’t have one let us know and we will let you know where to purchase them. We will bring oracle cards to use during this class.
Week 4 – Angels, Spirit Guides, and Crystals. Learning how to call upon your spirit guides and angels for support and guidance. We want you to truly feel that you are not alone in this life changing journey that is motherhood.
Week 5 – Creating an altar to the goddess within you. We will focus on listening to the divine feminine and honouring her through the transition from maiden to mother. All moms will take home an altar in a shadow box. Let your creativity flow!
Week 6 – Using herbs to help with postpartum anxiety and depression. All mamas will get to make a tea or herbal bath to take home and use for their self-care.
Week 7 – We’ll be talking holistic nutrition. Shealagh is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and will be guiding us in nutrition through the postpartum period.
Week 8 – Using Essential Oils to help with anxiety and depression. We will make an essential oil roller bottle to take home and create a mantra while using it.

Dates: October 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th, November 1st, 8th, 22nd, 29th
Investment: $197 for 8 weeks. This includes essential oils, herbs, and the altar box supplies. Payment plans are available, please ask.

Space is limited to 10 moms to ensure a small, intimate group.
